Description:
Monitoring the movement of raw data (file sizes can range from 10 MB to 1 GB) provides information on the health of your IT network. When an issue in the loading of files occurs, this module provides real-time alerts to the IT staff. The module automatically determines the needed actions to correctly reload the missing files and executes those actions.
As data moves through a network from point of origin to production databases, interruptions can occur. At times, just a momentary pause occurs, at other times a complete stop happens and not all the data is delivered. Tracking key process indicators (KPIs) that evaluate the movement of raw data has both short-term and long-term value.
Near-term, it assists the IT staff in addressing the failure of data loading correctly. Suppose that 20 files have been transmitted yet only 15 of them were successfully loaded. The module correctly identifies the file names of the misloaded 5 files and alerts your IT staff so they can determine the root cause. A request for the retransmission of these 5 files ensues. The monitoring repeats for these 5 files, most likely all will go well. This detection of loading issues prevents those next-day complaints from engineers looking for their production data. When IT staff observe repeated issues, they will investigate their network for an intermittently behaving component or an outdated software patch.
This module monitors the number of files, file sizes, and load times enabling metrics such as average load time. Such metrics enable your IT staff to evaluate the overall health of the network and to plan future expansion as your business grows.
